I visited Portsmouth for the first time this year and ate Vietnamese food for the first time at the Viet Quan not far from where I was staying. Both were among the best decisions I've ever made. Some of the tastiest, freshest food you could ever hope to try can be found here. Whether it's noodle soup, barbecued pork or seafood, the extensive and imaginative range of dishes will provide. The staff were very attentive and the meals arrived in very good time. I enjoyed such a satisfying meal I would recommend the Viet Quan to anyone staying in Portsmouth.
Fabulous little unassuming restaurant that punches above its weight, as evidenced by its growing popularity. Great menu that's not overrun with oriental dishes but nevertheless has plenty to appeal to any lover of the tastes of the orient. Staff are very knowledgeable and friendly, and the whole package was as wonderful to experience as it was unexpected. Love it.
Absolutely loved my experience at this Vietnamese restaurant! The food was fresh, flavorful, and authentic – every dish felt like it was made with care. Absolutely wonderful food and service. The beef pho was fragrant and warming with a great amount of the tender, delicious meat. The bahn mi was fresh and delicious too. Everything was great value. Service was fantastic, very attentive and friendly. Such a lovely restaurant which I'd absolutely return to!
Turned up around 18:30 on a Thursday evening in January (lone business traveller). The place was 1/3 full already. The service was excellent. Fast and friendly. I had 2 beers & and a single meal, and the bill was around 24. Beer choice was 3 Vietnam beers, Tiger, Saigon and Hanoi. Not had the latter two before so I tried one of each. I recommend the Saigon! (As did my waitress). Had Chilli beef with lemongrass, which was perfect. Great quality and good price. Left an hour later, and the restaurant was full. Recommend booking if going later than me! Will definitely go again next time I'm in Portsmouth. Thanks!!!
Authentic, delicious and refreshing beef pho served piping hot with the most generous portion imaginable. For the same price as the popular pho chain, you get much better flavour and A LOT more beef. The chilli oil was great too. Could not recommend it enough!
Love this place, very cosy and staff are really great. The food is superb, well worth a visit and the Saigon Rice dish is amazing if you like pork.
